Bereavement Counselling
Service (B.C.S.)
Offers counselling by trained volunteers at Good Shepard Pastoral Centre
in Baldoyle and other centres throughout the city.
This service is free and confidential.

Rainbows:
A peer support programme to assist children and adolescents who are grieving
a death, separation, or other painful transition in their family.

Senior Citizens Committee:
A voluntary group based in Malahide area serving the senior citizens of
Malahide, Old
Kinsealy, and The Baskin for over thirty years. They provide a little
social and cultural entertainment for the senior citizens free of charge,
i.e. Summer outing (2 coach loads) followed by dinner and entertainment,
inter-area nights at home and in surrounding areas with refreshments and
entertainment. Christmas dinner (approx 110 citizens), a visit to a Panto,
etc.
To raise money for the above activities the committee runs Bingos, raffles,
and have an annual Church gate collection. They would like support from
local talent willing to provide light entertainment, support from drivers
to transport senior citizens to and from the Christmas dinner. They would
appreciate invitations for senior citizens to local functions, donations
of prizes etc. for Bingo or raffles would be very welcome.

St. Vincent de Paul:
St. Sylvester's conference meets every Tuesday at 7.30 p.m. in St. Sylvester's
Parish Office.
The conference is a visitation conference, the areas visited are Malahide
and Ballymun.

Parenting Group:
This group has been formed in Malahide for the benefit of parents, grandparents,
godparents who are interested in the welfare of the children or young
people in their lives. It is a prayer based group which meets once a month
(Fri. so far) to seek Divine intervention and inspiration through prayer
and confidential discussion to meet the challenges which face us today.
New members are always welcome.

Voluntary Helpers Group:
A group of voluntary men and women who give an occasional hour to drive
an elderly person shopping or to their hospital appointments, or visit
and sit with an ill or elderly
Person in their home. More volunteers always welcome.

C.A.S.A. (Caring and Sharing Association)
Casa provides respite care for people with disabilities. At their house
in Malahide they cater for adults and children with a wide variety of
disabilities. During respite breaks, all visiting invalids are assigned
a volunteer to care for them for the length of their stay.

Meals on Wheels:
Malahide meals on wheels is a voluntary organisation.
Meals (dinner and desert) are delivered to approx thirty people every
week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. There are 12 co-ordinators who
each have a team of cooks and drivers, about hundred people altogether.
Anybody interested in volunteering for cooking or driving please contact

Malahide Lions Club:
The Lions Club provide discreet assistance where necessary and at very
short notice.
Members meet on 1st. and 3rd. Tuesdays of each month in The Grand Hotel
at 8.00 p.m.
New members are always welcome.
